Welcome the New Buhl Library Experience!

The Buhl Library remodel is finished and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. If you haven't stopped in to see the new spaces we encourage you to stop in whenever you can! Some of the things you might find when you visit us:

• 8 Huddle Rooms equipped with Microsoft Surface Hubs for collaboration work
• Revamped library lobby with more book display space and a renovated circulation desk
• A classroom for library instruction
• Lots of new seating in both group and quiet study spaces throughout the library
• Library cafe

If you weren't able to make our library open house, please feel free to tour the new library spaces using our Virtual Open House!

The Library is Updating Our Circulation System

With the opening of the newly renovated library, it is the perfect time to introduce a few updates to our circulation system. These changes will occur behind the scenes and do not require any action from you.

What changes will I see as a user?

1. Email Receipts
   • Check out receipts with due dates will be sent to your email after each library visit.
      
2. ID Card Reading
   • We will begin using the same technology that provides door access and scanning for meals at the dining halls to check out materials to you.
   • Patrons can place their wallet, cell phone, or other card holder against the pad to check out materials at the circ desk.
      
3. PIN Resets
   • When our database updates your account to enable ID card reading, your PIN will be reset to your birthdate (MMDD).
     1. If you would like to change your PIN, simply login with your ID # and PIN and click Change Library PIN on your home screen.
   • What can I do with my PIN?
     • Renew books
     • See what you have checked out
     • Create reading lists

Welcome the Buhl Library Mailbag 📬

We are excited to introduce a new program that we think will be fun for everyone! Have you ever wondered if you could stump a librarian or have random questions that pop up throughout the day you'd love to know the answer to? Well now is your chance, just write down your question and slide it through our mailbag slot at the front entrance of the library and we'll answer your questions in the next newsletter!

New Faculty Publications

Professor David J. Ayers recently published his latest work After The Revolution: Sex and the Single Evangelical. In it, Ayers discusses "Drawing on social sciences and history, Ayers traces recent worldview shifts in the United States that reveal the historic Christian understanding of sex and marriage has been supplanted in the aftermath of the sexual revolution and sexual confusion has infiltrated the church, especially influencing younger Christians. With the book, Ayers provides Christians a resource to understand their challenges and social context to find a way forward."

Library Schedule Change

Buhl Library will close on Thursday, September 15 from 3 pm to 6:30 pm for our rededication event. Please keep that in mind when planning your library time that day. Thank you!
