A vital part of the Library's Mission is to "provide its students, faculty, staff, and administration with the resources necessary to support their educational needs and objectives." In order to accomplish this, Henry Buhl Library seeks to achieve the following goals with respect to Library Student Employees:
Goal 1: Be a place where students can ask questions and receive help when needed
Goal 2: Provide assistance and appropriate resources to support scholars with their academic pursuits
In order to accomplish these library goals, the Student Employee Coordinator has established the following objectives with respect to Student Employees:

Why conduct reviews?
The review process is designed to be an opportunity for discussion of an employee’s strengths and weaknesses (if any), while also dialoguing about ways s/he can continue to build professional skills. It is also a chance for student staff to share ideas and suggestions of how the library can improve its processes, services, etc.
What are the benefits of reviews for students?
It is the Library’s hope that the feedback provided in these performance reviews will highlight each student’s contributions and value to our organization in a positive way. Another benefit of these reviews is that they provide a history of strengths, contributions, and professional skills growth throughout employment. Library Staff can use this history to provide professional reference documentation for current and past employees upon request.
