Mission for Library Resources, Services, and Space

The cornerstone of Henry Buhl Library's mission is to provide students, faculty, staff, and administration with the resources necessary to support their educational needs and objectives. To accomplish this, we will provide materials of high quality and timeliness that present a variety of intellectual perspectives so as to create a collection that is current and representative of the topics and viewpoints found in various fields of study.

 

Overview of Goals & Objectives of Library Resources, Services, & Space (Fall 2022)

In order to accomplish the Buhl Library's mission regarding resources, services, and space, the following goals and objectives have been identified for each area. Existing assessments will continue to measure progress in these areas and new assessments will be developed, as needed.

Goals:

  • Be the academic information center of the Grove City College campus
  • Be a place where students can ask questions and receive help when needed
  • Provide assistance and appropriate resources to support scholars with their academic pursuits

Objectives:

  • Review library materials against usage to analyze the cost-effectiveness of resources for budgeting purposes
  • Review currently held library materials for relevancy to current and new curriculum offerings
  • Provide accurate, professional, and timely support and assistance through our service points

Objectives:

  • Provide furnishings and areas to optimize space usage of the library
  • Provide a variety of furniture types, available technology, and levels of quiet to accommodate a variety of study styles/preferences

Goals:

Objectives:

  • Promote awareness of new and existing library services and resources to the campus community
  • Foster relationships with campus departments to raise awareness of new and existing library services and resources within the campus community
  • Foster relationships with campus departments to maintain an open dialogue about the educational and information needs of the campus community
  • Create programs, social media content and marketing materials that promote library services and resources
  • Create programs, social media content and marketing materials that strive to foster an interest in and/or love of the library
  • Encourage feedback and conduct assessment of library programs, services and resources to ensure that the we are supporting the educational needs of the campus community
